- HEDERA HELIX
Our varieties are selected with care to ensure that they are ideally suited to training around frames and that they live up to our strict quality requirements. Hedera helix is produced in 6, 9, 11 and 16 cm sizes and ivy on rounded or straight frames accounts for most of our production.The nusery has expanded to 11,000 m2, has 15 full-time employees and produces 1.2 million ivy plants per annum.
Our core competency is production of ivy on rounded frames as well as other exciting types of frames, and the production time for ivy on a rounded frame is approximately 25 weeks from the ivy is planted until it leaves the nursery healthy and fully grown. In the spring, we also produce the Calibrachoa and Verbena for planting out.
Environment and quality
The nursery is environmentally certified under the current international rules for nurseries (Milieu Project Sierteelt or MPS). A green audit has to be lodged once a month accounting for the amount of chemicals, fertilisers, waste products, energy, electricity and water, etc. used in the nursery. Our goal is to maintain top classification, Class A, and secondly to work towards MPS GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) classification, whereby great importance is attached to documenting good practice in areas including occupational safety and health, plant health and protection of the environment.
