Precision Farming
It is well known that yields can vary significantly from one area of the field to another. The need for nutrients and regulation of weeds and diseases may also vary significantly.
Precision farming enables the use of manure, lime and pesticides in quantities that are precisely adjusted to the needs of specific plants, the area and the soil conditions. It is thereby possible to optimise the output and at the same time limit the amount of manure and pest controller used.
Even though there is still research being carried out in this area, a number of techniques are already available on the market. This applies e.g. to technology for the precision allocation of fertilisers and pesticides. In recent years great improvements have been achieved in terms of automatic identification of row crops and weed with the aid of computers.
