Market opportunities for suppliers in Hungary

SustainAgri participated in a promotion activity in Hungary arranged and carried out by The Royal Danish Embassy in Budapest. The promotion took place during February and March this year in 10 locations throughout Hungary as illustrated by dots on the map below.

The program at each location took 4-6 hours and the local Mayor opened each event, which was followed by an introduction of Denmark.

After the introduction there were an individual presentations by Danish companies. The presentations were either presented by local partners of the participating companies or by the Embassy in order to keep the presentations in the Hungarian language.

Each event ended with an open forum for questions and direct negotiations between the representatives of the Danish companies and the interested audiences.

Altogether 1093 participants were present at the 10 events. Companies, farmers, entrepreneurs of the agricultural and food processing sectors were invited from the towns and their surroundings. There were many end-users (farmers, co-operatives, etc.) in the audience, as well as local experts (agronomists, agricultural advisers) and research companies who would disseminate the information they received during the lectures.

All ten events received excellent coverage in the local and regional media. On top of that there were several news raports and interviews in the trade and professional publications as well as coverage on the national television channel (MTV) and the major national radio station (in Kossuth Rádió). Therefore information about sustaniable agriculture and environmental freindly techniques not only reached the actual number of participants on the events, but in fact a much wider audience as well.

As a result of the promotion activity i Hungary, SustainAgri received approx. 30 inquires. Some of the inquires concerned cooperation with Danish farmers, new Danish technology, trade partners, visit to Danish demoinstration farms,  building friendship, get knowledge about cultivation technology. Also, many seemed interested in Biogas technology as well as in liquid manure treatment technologies.
