A delegation consisting of 11 agricultural consultants from Toyota city of Japan attended Funen this week. The group visited one of the local advisory centres of The Danish Agricultural advisory Service. Regional Secretary Frans Erve gave a lecture about the organisation and the unique two-level advisory system for farmers in Denmark. Moreover the group was given a lecture about Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in relation to domestic husbandry in Denmark by an administrative employee from The Funen County.
The delegation visited a local pig producer with 770 year sows, 21.000 heads (7-30 kg) and 360 ha, who had implemented an acidification plant from Staring Miljų A/S to protect the environment from the unwanted effects of ammonia emission. Finally the Japanese got a guided tour at a modern milk producer using the newest milking robot technology for milking.
