DEG
DEG is the umbrella organisation for Danish horticulture, covering flowers and plants as well as fruits and vegetables.
The external objective of DEG is to safeguard the grower's political and financial interests and to support the sales organisations by acting as liaison body towards politicians and officials as well as other interest groups, nationally and internationally. The internal objective of DEG is to support the growers through test and laboratory activities as well as consulting and information services.
DEG´s activities are funded via user payment for consulting services etc., and via a subscription consisting of a fixed basic subscription and a trade subscription paid by sales organisations and growers on a turnover basis. Finally, DEG receives a grant from the state that covers part of the consulting services.
