DevelopmentCenter Aarslev
DevelopmentCenter Aarslev was established in 2002 as a growth environment for the horticultural industry. The purpose of the centre is to coordinate and thereby strengthen the competences on Funen within the horticultural industry, but moreover the centre aims at contributing to a general progress of agriculture, sub-industries and the manufacturing industries.
In practice DevelopmentCenter Aarslev functions as a network cooperation a.o. including a series of highly competent and well-established research and educational institutions. The specific results of the cooperation are several projects within the two main research areas Horticultural Technology and Food for Health. Generally the projects are characterized by a close cooperation between research institutions and the industry.
The aim of this cooperation is to secure that the research-based knowledge generated in the projects is implemented in the nurseries. DevelopmentCenter Aarslev's close network comprises amongst others Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Odense University College of Engineering, Danish Association of Horticultural Producers, University of Southern Denmark, Odense Technical College, Dalum Education Centre, Krymeda (the Producer Association of Spices and herbs in Denmark), Odense Trade Council and Funen Business Development Centre. Moreover, DevelopmentCenter Aarslev has established contact with a series of other partners, and the network continuously works on developing new relations to both Danish and foreign actors within the research areas of the centre.
